Hard Facts:
SCHUMACHER
In September 2021, Netflix created a moving memorial to the legend and one of the most successful racing drivers of all time with the documentary “SCHUMACHER”, which not only thrilled Formula 1 fans around the world. Even before its release, the documentary was hotly debated in the fan forums and, as the entire Schumacher family was involved in the film production, expectations were high, but the loyalty of the Michael Schumacher community was also certain. It was clear to everyone that what was to come had to be a tribute to the Formula 1 icon's peak performance.
In just ten days, a photorealistic, hand-painted section of a Formula 1 racetrack was created on our 190 square meter façade in the middle of Cologne-Ehrenfeld, on which we then installed a true-to-original 3D model of Schumi's world champion Ferrari - the F1-2000. The little extra on top was the typical red LED tail light which automatically lit up every evening and illuminated the racetrack.
The mix of #handpainted and #handcrafted mural was a huge success both offline and online. Countless people made a pilgrimage to the Veedel to see the Ferrari live and in color on the wall and, of course, to take photos, which were then diligently shared on social networks. After the project, the model we built was donated to the MS Kart&Event Center in Kerpen, where it has now found its final home on the world-famous go-kart track.
