ADIDAS - GERMANY GOT GAME
Hard Facts:
When the NBA comes to Germany, there’s one thing that simply can’t be missing: a wall right next to the highly anticipated game between the Orlando Magic and the Memphis Grizzlies at the Uber Arena.
Just in time for the NBA’s visit to Germany in January, we created a large-scale mural at Berlin’s East Side Gallery for adidas and the German Basketball Federation. The focus: the Wagner brothers, Franz and Moritz—two of the most influential figures in German basketball today and symbols of a generation that is redefining the sport in this country.
As with many of our hand-painted projects, this artwork began with sketches, references, and a great deal of precision work on the scaffolding. Piece by piece, the two portraits took shape directly on the facade—from the initial outlines to the fine details in the faces, jerseys, and lighting.
The challenge lay not only in the size of the wall, but above all in faithfully capturing the distinctive character of the two brothers across several hundred square meters of facade.

Once the mural was complete, the message was impossible to miss: Germany has long been among the world’s sporting elite and has created a basketball powerhouse.
As European and world champions, the German basketball team now embodies a success story that hardly anyone would have thought possible just a few years ago. It is precisely this spirit that the artwork conveys in public spaces with the slogan “GERMANY GOT GAME.”
Located right on one of Berlin’s most famous thoroughfares, the wall served as a statement in support of German basketball that was visible from miles away for several weeks—and, of course, as the perfect photo spot for fans, passersby, and anyone who wanted to experience the hype surrounding the NBA’s visit to Germany firsthand. WE ALSO GOT GAME! 🏀
