At the end of last year, the new DFB home jersey was painted on a wall in XXL format right in the middle of Venloer Straße in Cologne’s Ehrenfeld district. And of course, it wasn’t just any old painting—it featured Germany’s superstar Florian Wirtz as the central motif.
Amid scaffolding, reference prints, cans, and a wealth of details, a photorealistic mural emerged piece by piece, bringing the spirit of the current German national team jersey straight to Ehrenfeld.
Despite the enormous size of the facade, our artists once again refined every tiny detail. Skin textures, light reflections, fabric folds, and the jersey’s iconic colors were built up layer by layer thanks to decades of experience in the field. Added to this were typographic elements and the campaign message “YOU GOT THIS,” which infuse the entire artwork with the energy of a major tournament stage.
The finished mural towers over Ehrenfeld and is hard to miss even from a distance. Nestled between Cologne’s TV tower, rooftops, and the bustling hipster scene, Flo Wirtz brings the World Cup excitement right to Venloer Straße—loud, emotional, and completely oversized.
With its warm background, intense facial expressions, and monumental facade, the artwork brings a frozen stadium moment right into the heart of the urban landscape, making it a giant declaration of love for the new Germany jersey. We’re crossing our fingers for you, guys!
