MEZZO MIX - CHANGING MURAL
Hard Facts:
In the heart of Cologne-Ehrenfeld, CONCRETE CANDY transformed one of its top mural spots into an (almost) living work of art – for Mezzo Mix, the iconic brand from Coca-Cola.
The hand-painted changing mural celebrated the mix of cola and orange in a very special way: in three consecutive phases, the mural changed continuously – each phase told a new story and allowed the city to experience how changeable art in public spaces can be.



In the first phase, the façade was illuminated in a vibrant orange that could be seen from afar.
The focus, of course, was on the iconic Mezzo Mix can, enveloped in dynamic streams of red and yellow.
Above it, the slogan “Love the Mix” was emblazoned prominently—a clear homage to the brand's unique taste and fresh attitude toward life. This was the starting point for the evolving mural series.



In the second phase, the wall began to come to life and transform further:
Bright red flowers, flowing shapes, and the new slogan “Unverschämt” (Insolent) spread across the façade.
The motif symbolized new beginnings, change, and Mezzo Mix's creative self-image—cheeky, confident, and colorful.
The final artwork brought everything together:
A photorealistic portrait with a friendly, energetic aura now filled the wall space.
The slogan “Unbelievably good – your guilty pleasure” rounded off the campaign and gave the mural a strong emotional presence.
The work impressively demonstrated how hand-painted outdoor advertising can be combined with storytelling, brand identity, and artistic quality.
