TESLA
Hard Facts:
TESLA GIGAFABRIC BERLIN-BRANDENBURG
When innovative technology and progressive design find a new home in Grünheide near Berlin, we don't take long to give this place a breathtaking touch. So we welcomed the arrival of Elon Musk himself in Germany with a very special robot mural at the new Gigafactory Berlin-Brandenburg.
In close cooperation with Tesla and artists from our Concrete Candy portfolio, we developed two artworks that were intended to address the connection between man and machine as well as the city and rural areas. What connects people and their Teslas? One example: both have “eyes” or sensors, to put it more technically. But how does a machine, a robot, an AI see? To answer this question, we used data directly from the Tesla Model Y produced on site. The first artwork, inspired by “Inception”, depicted an upside-down view of a city. For the second artwork, we chose a scene from the Brandenburg forests, with exactly the details that could be recognized as deer by the front cameras of a Tesla.
Both artworks were painted within just two days by our mural robot “Albert” on the towers to the left and right of the main entrance to the new Gigafactory. During the opening ceremony of the new Gigafactory and Elon Musk's speech, our facade robot “tagged” the huge letters G I G A on the facade of the future lobby of the main entrance directly behind the large stage. This caused amazement and countless photos among the guests. All we can say is: “Welcome to Europe, Elon. It was nice to meet you!
